A WOMAN claims she was raped while lining up for tickets to Wimbledon.
The incident is alleged to have happened late last Saturday night in Wimbledon Park just metres from the tournament site, the Daily Mail reports.
The 34-year-old woman was among hundreds that had queued up at the park for last-minute tickets to the Men's Final.
She told police she was raped after joining a man in a tent.
Police arrested a 30-year-old man after a call from the woman on Sunday morning.
It's believed that neither had met each other before the evening and both had been drinking alcohol.
Wimbledon is one of the few world-class events where fans can buy the best tickets on the day of play, prompting fans to camp out overnight.
This year the queue for the Men's Final between Briton Andy Murray and Serbian Novac Djokovic went back hundreds of metres from the gate.
