A WOMAN has broken down in court as she recalled how she was allegedly aggressively groped by Rolf Harris moments after he performed his hit tune Two Little Boys.

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was in the witness box at Southwark Crown Court as she recalled 1968 and 1969 as initially a happy time in her life.

She said she was seven or eight years old, man had landed on the moon and a man called Rolf Harris had a hit song about two little boys who had two little toys.

The now 52-year-old described how she was at a community centre in Portsmouth on a sunny but chilly Saturday before Christmas for a dance when they were told the man with the hit song was there.

The girl, there with her 12-year-old brother and sister, saw others with autograph books and quickly found a scrap piece of paper to join the "orderly free-for-all" for the star to sign.

After he performed his song, Harris saw the girl drew close and asked her name which she told him and handed the paper for him to sign. He signed it but after he handed it back to her she said something happened.

"He was looking at me smiling … then out of nowhere I felt his hand go down my back and between my legs," she told the court.

The woman began crying as she said how quickly the move was and her bewilderment.

"It was so quick, I thought 'what's just happened?' I just thought 'what's happened, what's gone on' … he seemed such a nice man … I thought it was an accident the first time … but instantly the hand was back not down my back but straight between my legs aggressively forcefully and I knew then it wasn't an accident."

The woman said she knew as a little girl it was wrong and she was scared, she threw the autograph away and sat to one side of the hall. She was affected every time she since heard or saw Harris' name.

"My life changed that day …," she told the court.

In cross-examination Sonia Woodley QC representing the 84-year-old entertainer suggested the event never happened since Harris had "never ever" been or performed at the community centre.

The alleged victim said she had nothing to gain, Harris was there and did touch her. A statement from her husband was read to court in which he recalled years later how his wife had told him of the alleged assault. A statement from a counsellor who she mentioned the assault to also gave police a statement.

She never took her claim to the public until after she saw publicity of another woman make a complaint against Harris.

The case continues,
