AN AUSTRALIAN woman on holiday in Bali has been found dead in her hotel room.

Police said the 54-year-old was found dead in room 104 of the Akmani Hotel in Legian today.

Forensic team doctors had conducted an external examination and found no sign of violence or criminal activity and believed she may have died from a respiratory illness.

The head of forensics at Sanglah hospital, Ida Bagus Putu Alit, said an external examination was conducted this morning.
