AN AUSTRALIAN woman on holiday in Bali has been found dead in her hotel room.
Police said the 54-year-old was found dead in room 104 of the Akmani Hotel in Legian today.
Forensic team doctors had conducted an external examination and found no sign of violence or criminal activity and believed she may have died from a respiratory illness.
The head of forensics at Sanglah hospital, Ida Bagus Putu Alit, said an external examination was conducted this morning.

"We do not find any signs of violence We only find signs of asphyxiation, like blue on the lips and under the nails. We allege that she was sick," he said.
The woman, believed to be from Carlton, was on holiday with her sister and is believed to have been due to return to Australia on Friday from her holiday.
Hotel staff said that yesterday the woman had complained of feeling ill and having difficulty breathing.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is providing consular assistance to the woman's family.
The department said it not be providing further details due to privacy considerations.
