The sister of a woman who fell to her death from a Gold Coast balcony has made a plea for information.

A man questioned over the death of a NZ woman who fell from his balcony reportedly 'recorded everything'.

POLICE have been granted an extra week to scour the highrise apartment of Gold Coast playboy Gable Tostee for clues over the death of a New Zealand tourist.

Warriena Tagpuno Wright plunged 14 floors from the balcony of Mr Tostee's Surfers Paradise apartment about 2.20am last Friday morning, just hours after the pair met on social dating app Tinder.

As Ms Wright's younger sister yesterday made an impassioned plea for any information to help solve the tragedy, detectives successfully sought an extension to the search warrant for the luxury Avalon apartment.

A team of 20 detectives, including the state homicide squad, are working around the clock to piece together exactly what led to the striking 26-year-old falling to her death.

Ms Wright's sister Reza yesterday made a heart-breaking plea to the public for information which could help solve the case.

Fighting back tears as she spoke, 23-year-old Reza spoke of her pain at losing a sister who was also her best friend.

"She was the most important person in my world," she said. "It is so hard for me facing the loss of my sister without knowing what happened."

She said she was desperate to return home to New Zealand with her sister's body, but would stay in Australia "as long as it takes".

"I'm going to stay here as long as I need to be here," she said.

"I hope that anyone in the community with any information that could help me comes forward and contacts the police."

She last spoke to her sister, who she remembered as a beautiful, intelligent practical joker, just hours before her death, sending Facebook messages to each other.

"We just talked about fixing her car," she said.

Mr Tostee still hasn't spoken to police about the incident. He met detectives last Friday, but exercised his right to silence.

Since then he has vented on social media, protesting his innocence and slamming media reports of the tragedy.

Detective Superintendent Dave Hutchinson, the Gold Coast's regional crime co-ordinator, was reluctant to comment on the specifics of the case, but repeated calls for anyone with information to come forward.

"Part of the investigation is to establish a timeline and we have gathered a certain amount of information already," Supt Hutchinson said.
