MARK Holden has dodged a bullet and is staying in Dancing with the Stars in a major upset.
Instead model Ashley Hart and partner Julz Tocker were the first team eliminated from the Channel 7 dance show.
Hart's exit came despite scoring a total of 51 points from judges Todd McKenney, Helen Richey, Kym Johnson and Adam Garcia over the past two weeks.
Former Australian Idol judge Holden and partner Jessica Prince had only scored 36 points.
TV viewers votes — which make up half the final tally — made all the difference and Hart and Tocker were sent packing.

"I lived out a childhood dream — I learned how to dance," Hart said after the shock result was announced.
Holden was clearly dumbfounded by the result. His poor dance skills made him the obvious candidate to go home.
Last week's bottom team, Torah Bright and dance partner Robbie Kmetoni, bounced back in a big way.
Kmetoni copped a savaging from McKenney — and a dismal 1 out 10 — for their Foxtrot routine a week ago.

Tonight, dancing a Contemporary routine to Katy Perry's Roar, Bright and Kmetoni earned this year's first standing ovation from the studio audience.
McKenney scored the pair a whopping 9 out of 10. Once the other three judges' scores were added in Bright and Kmetoni had grabbed 35, the highest score of the night.

Ricki-Lee Coulter had the audience, and judge Helen Richey, in tears when she dedicated her Contemporary routine to her deceased grandfather.
Coulter danced to the Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men hit One Sweet Day with partner Jarryd Byrne. It was the song Coulter sang at her grandfather's funeral.
Coulter, holding back tears, admitted that she hadn't been able to listen to the song since the funeral because it affected her so much.
"I think he would say 'I'm proud of you'," Coulter said at the end of the routine, which scored 34 from the judges.
Kyly Clarke also fought back tears as she danced a waltz — to Josh Groban's You Raise Me Up — dedicated to her father. Clarke and partner Damian Whitewood scored 34.
